Big gift to teachers: Chief Minister Teachers Cashless Medical Scheme started, will get free treatment

Kanpur. With the Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme, lakhs of teachers and education personnel of the state will now be able to avail the facility of cashless treatment up to five lakh along with their families.
This scheme is an important step of the government towards providing economic and health security to teachers. Cabinet Minister Rakesh Sachan said these things on Wednesday.
With the launch of the Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme, 11,484 teachers and education personnel of Kanpur city and their dependents will get the facility of cashless treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. Cabinet Minister Rakesh Sachan distributed the cards of the scheme in the district level program organized at Merchant Chamber Hall on Wednesday.
Before the program, live telecast of the state level function organized under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Varanasi was also seen. Along with this, parallel programs were also organized in Bilhaur, Ghatampur and Narwal tehsils and cards were given to the beneficiaries.
Rakesh Sachan said that 5,936 teachers, 1,968 Shikshamitras, 122 instructors, 20 special teachers (CWSN) and 3,438 cooks of the district will benefit from this scheme.
He said that more than 12 lakh teachers and education personnel across the state will come under the ambit of the scheme and the state government will spend approximately Rs 450 crore on its operation.
He said that under the MoU signed by the Education Department with the State Bank of India, insurance protection cover ranging from Rs 30 lakh to Rs 80 lakh will also be provided to the teachers.
No extra fee will be charged from teachers for this. Along with providing financial assistance to the family in case of an accident, needs like children’s education and daughter’s marriage have also been taken care of.
The Cabinet Minister said that the state government is continuously strengthening the basic education system. The assistance amount is being sent directly to the accounts of the parents through DBT. He also appealed to the teachers to ensure enrollment of every child out of school under the School Chalo campaign.
During the program, an amount of more than Rs 1,300 crore was released through DBT at the rate of Rs 1,200 per student to provide uniforms, shoes-socks, sweaters, school bags and other essential materials to the students of approximately one crore ten lakh council schools of the state.
To avail the benefits of the scheme, eligible teachers and education personnel will have to register the details of themselves and their dependents on the portal. Cashless medical cards will be issued after completion of verification and e-KYC at the Block Education Officer and District Basic Education Officer level.
MP Ramesh Awasthi, MLA Neelima Katiyar, MLA Mahesh Trivedi, District Panchayat President Swapnil Varun, Surendra Awasthi, District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh, Chief Development Officer Abhinav J were present in the program. Jain and other public representatives and officials symbolically distributed cashless medical cards to the teachers.
On this occasion, AD Basic Shivendra Pratap Singh, DIOS Praveen Kumar Tiwari, ADIOS Prashant Kumar Dwivedi, BSA Hariom Singh and officials of the education department and a large number of teachers were present.
