Supaul: Bike riding youth dies after being hit by truck, chaos among family members

Supaul. A youth riding a bike died on the spot after being hit by a speeding truck on SH-91 located at Bajrang Chowk in Chhatapur police station area of ​​the district on Monday afternoon.

After the incident, a huge crowd of people gathered at the spot. The deceased has been identified as Arun Kumar, 25-year-old son of Kailu Yadav, resident of Ward No. 9 of Dahriya Panchayat.

According to eyewitnesses, after the incident, the truck driver got down from the vehicle and started looking at the dead body. Meanwhile, the people present nearby caught the driver. On receiving the information, Chhatapur police station reached Chhatapur station, took the driver into custody and sent him to the police station and confiscated the truck.

During interrogation, truck driver Pappu Rai told that he was going towards Chhatapur market from Bhimpur by loading sand in truck number BR-31 GC-5013.

Suddenly the sound of a bike falling was heard near Bajrang Chowk. After looking through the mirror, it was found that the youth riding the bike had been hit by the tire of the truck, due to which he died on the spot.

According to the information, Arun Kumar had purchased the new Hero Splendor Plus bike a day earlier. He went to the Hero showroom in Chhatapur on Monday to complete the paperwork of the bike. This accident happened while returning home after completing the work from the showroom.

As soon as information about the incident was received, there was chaos among the family members of the deceased. The family members are in bad condition and crying. Local people have demanded the administration to improve the road safety system.

In this regard, Police Station Head Pramod Jha said that the truck driver has been taken into custody and the accident truck has been confiscated. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Further necessary action is being taken in the matter.
