Bhopal gets the gift of state-of-the-art ‘Space Exploration Gallery’, to be inaugurated today

Bhopal. Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, is going to get the gift of a state-of-the-art ‘Space Exploration Gallery’. Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate this ‘Dirgha’ developed at the Zonal Science Center in Bhopal on Tuesday at 5:30 pm.

Public Relations Officer Arun Sharma said that on this occasion, senior officials and distinguished citizens of the Government of India, Government of Madhya Pradesh, National Science Museum Council, District Administration Bhopal and various scientific and educational institutions will be present.

He said that this state-of-the-art gallery developed by Zonal Science Centre, Bhopal, a unit of National Science Museum Council (Ministry of Culture, Government of India) is an important initiative towards popularization of science, dissemination of scientific outlook and promotion of experiential science education. It has been developed with the technical guidance of Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai and the cooperation of District Administration Bhopal.

According to the Public Relations Officer, through modern digital technologies, interactive exhibits and scientific presentations in the gallery, visitors will be introduced to the universe, modern cosmology, human space exploration and India’s glorious space travel.

In this, from the Nasadiya Sukta of the Indian knowledge tradition and the concept of zero to the achievements of Indian space programs like Aryabhata, Chandrayaan-1, Mangalyaan, Chandrayaan-3 and Gaganyaan, it has been displayed in an attractive and scientific manner.

He said that many interactive exhibits have been developed in the gallery including International Space Station (ISS) experience, space walk, space flight simulator, observation of three-dimensional surfaces of Moon and Mars, rocket science, orbital mechanics,

Which will provide the visitors an opportunity to understand and experience space science firsthand. This state-of-the-art gallery will develop interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics among students, teachers, researchers, science lovers and common citizens and encourage research, innovation and scientific thinking.

Besides, it will also play an important role in strengthening the science-based tourism, science communication and space technology based innovation ecosystem in Madhya Pradesh.
