Monsoon active in Madhya Pradesh, alert of heavy rain in 15 districts; It will rain for the next four days

Bhopal . Monsoon now appears to be fully active in Madhya Pradesh. During the last 36 hours, good rainfall has been recorded in more than 35 districts of the state. Heavy rains are likely to continue in most parts of the state for the next four days.

Today on Wednesday, an alert of heavy and very heavy rain has been issued for 15 districts. It has been raining continuously in the capital Bhopal since Tuesday night.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of extremely heavy rain in Shivpuri, Guna, Sagar and Dindori. There is a possibility of 4 to 8 inches of rain in these districts during the next 24 hours.

At the same time, warning of heavy rain has been issued in Sheopur, Ashoknagar, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Damoh, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ujjain, Dhar and Barwani.

Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Indore, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Ratlam, Agar-Malwa, Shajapur, Dewas, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Datia.

There are chances of light rain at some places and heavy rain at some places in Jabalpur, Katni, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Balaghat, Mandla, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Mauganj, Maihar, Shahdol, Umaria, Anuppur and Niwari.

The effect of continuous rain has also been visible on the total rainfall figures of the state. Till Monday, Madhya Pradesh had recorded 17 percent less rainfall than normal, which dropped to 14 percent by Tuesday.

According to the Meteorological Department, so far 286.8 mm (11.3 inches) of rainfall has been recorded in the state, whereas the normal rainfall during this period should have been 335.3 mm (13.2 inches).

Eastern Madhya Pradesh has recorded 18 percent less rainfall than normal and the western part has recorded 11 percent less rainfall. At present, rainfall figures in 41 districts of the state remain below normal.

In the eastern region, except Niwari, almost all the districts have received below normal rainfall, while 14 districts have recorded above average rainfall. According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon is in active phase in the state.

If the moisture supply from the Bay of Bengal and the current meteorological system persists, good rains may continue over central areas of Madhya Pradesh in the coming days. This will benefit water sources and agriculture.
