Delhi: Tragic accident in Vasant Kunj: Car falls into drain, army officer’s son dies

Delhi: A car went out of control at a turn near Nangal Dewat area in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj and fell into a drain. 20 year old Yashvendra, who was traveling in the car, died in the accident.

Yashvendra was the son of an Indian Army officer and was pursuing higher education in America. At the time of the accident, he was traveling in a car with his girlfriend.

The female friend was driving the car and the car also belonged to her. She has been injured in the accident and has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Police have registered the case and started investigating the cause of the accident. In the initial investigation, high speed and loss of control at the turn are believed to be the reasons for the accident.

Police said that on July 24, 2026, a PCR call was received at Vasant Kunj South Police Station informing about death in a road accident. After which the police team reached the spot and got the body taken out.

According to the police, Yashvendra had stayed at his friend’s house last night and was going to the woman’s house in the morning. Meanwhile, due to slipping on the road near Nangal Dewat Red Light, the car lost control and fell into the drain.

Yashvendra was injured in the accident and later died. Yashvendra was pursuing higher education in America. The woman was also studying in the same college.

Yashvendra’s father is an officer in the Indian Army. The father of the female co-passenger works in the cyber security sector in a private company in Okhla.

According to the statement of the female co-passenger, the accident occurred due to slipping on the road. At present the investigation of the matter is going on and further action is being taken.
