Bhopal/Dhar. Dhar district was kept closed for half a day on Tuesday on the call of Hindu organization regarding the historical Bhojshala case located in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh.
Members of Hindu organizations took to the streets since morning and appealed to shopkeepers to keep their business establishments closed. While essential services were kept free during the bandh, the administration deployed heavy police force in sensitive areas to deal with any untoward situation.
Shops in major markets and business areas of Dhar city remained completely closed since morning during the half-day bandh on Tuesday called by a Hindu organization over the historical Bhojshala dispute in Dhar district.
Due to this, there was silence compared to everyday. Members associated with Hindu organizations reached various markets and commercial areas of the city. He requested the shopkeepers with folded hands to keep their establishments closed and cooperate in the protest.
The effect of the bandh was clearly visible in the main markets of the city. However, keeping in mind the convenience of the general public, schools, colleges, petrol pumps, medical stores and other essential services were kept out of the bandh.
Hindu organizations allege that despite clear instructions from the court in the Bhojshala case, the local administration is not following the orders properly.
The main reason for the protest is the arrangement for Friday prayers held every Friday near Bhojshala. Hindu organizations are demanding immediate abolition of this system.
Under the interim orders of the Supreme Court, the local administration has ensured arrangements for the Muslim community to offer Namaz on Friday on the land of Khasra No. 612 located behind the Bhojshala, to which the Hindu community is strongly objecting.

Considering the sensitivity of the district bandh and protests, the police and administrative staff remained on full alert mode.
Heavy police force was deployed in the main intersections, markets and sensitive areas of the city. Administrative officers are continuously patrolling and monitoring the situation so that peace and law and order are maintained.
