CNG prices have been increased by Rs 3.89 per kg in Delhi-NCR. The revised rates have become effective from 6 am on Saturday. This increase has been announced by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), the leading city gas distributor in the National Capital Region.
Speaking to news agency IANS, an auto-rickshaw driver said, “It’s not just auto-rickshaws that use CNG, but cars, bikes and buses also run on it. So, the price increase impacts everyone. We tell passengers that gas prices have increased, and they themselves pay a little more fare.”
Another auto-rickshaw driver said, “What can we say about this? This is a problem for the entire public. We are not happy with the way the government is handling things. Now after the price hike, it will be Rs 86.98 per kg. What can we do about it? This also creates problems for auto-rickshaw drivers and people driving other vehicles. But our passengers pay the same fare. Whether they book online or through some other means, the fare is Stays pretty much the same.”
The auto-rickshaw driver said, “Everything is becoming expensive. Sometimes the prices of sugar, vegetables and sometimes onions are increasing. This does not affect the rich people, but affects the poor. The government should think once. The way inflation is increasing is not good for the country.”
He said that the additional cost of fuel will also increase for the owners of private vehicles running on CNG. Amidst the ever-increasing prices, fuel cost is becoming a major concern for people driving CNG vehicles in Delhi-NCR. Due to this, auto drivers will also start increasing their fares in the coming days, which will affect everyone. Let us tell you that after the increase, the price of CNG in Delhi has increased from Rs 83.09 per kg to Rs 86.98 per kg.
