Dhamtari. An angry husband attacked his own wife with a hammer on her head when she refused to drink alcohol, seriously injuring him. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Here the police has arrested the accused husband and sent him to jail today on Friday.
According to the information received from Magarlod police, on the night of September 2, 36 year old Chamman Lal Sahu, resident of village Bhaisamundi, reached his home under the influence of alcohol.
When wife Kiran Sahu, seeing her drunk husband, asked him to stop drinking alcohol, the drunk husband started arguing with his wife.
When the dispute escalated, the accused husband Chamman Lal Sahu got angry and hit his wife on the head several times with an iron hammer, due to which wife Kiran became drenched in blood and got seriously injured.
After committing the incident, the accused husband fled from there. Here, after seeing the injured Kiran Sahu, the relatives informed Dial 112, then reached the spot and took her to Magarlod Hospital for treatment, where seeing the condition of the woman, the doctors referred her to the district hospital for better treatment.
Treatment of the injured woman is going on in District Hospital Dhamtari. When the police got the news of the incident, the police team reached the village and detained the accused husband Chamman Lal Sahu and interrogated him.
During interrogation, the accused admitted to carrying out the incident and the police seized the iron hammer used in the incident from him and took action. The police duly arrested the accused husband and sent him to jail on judicial remand today.
