MP Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of dilapidated roads in the district during the meeting of the District Monitoring and Monitoring Committee (Disha). He showed the dilapidated photos of the roads on his mobile and said that when the government gives money then why is this the condition. In the meeting which lasted for about two and a half hours, the MLAs also raised issues related to development. After the meeting, opposition MLAs said that corruption is taking place in development schemes while Minister Manoj Pandey said that Rae Bareli is rapidly moving towards development. After the meeting Rahul Gandhi left for Delhi.
On Wednesday, a meeting of the District Monitoring Committee (Disha) was held under the chairmanship of Rahul Gandhi at Bachat Bhawan of the Collectorate. In the meeting, Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of dilapidated roads of the district and said that when the government gives funds then why is this the condition. He also raised questions on the decisions of previous meetings and asked the officials to take immediate action. Rahul said that the condition of rural roads is very bad. Officials are not paying any attention. He asked the officials to improve this system. During this, State Cabinet Minister Manoj Pandey said that development is happening faster than before. 16 thousand roads have been built in five years. Earlier 20 percent ration was available, now everyone in the district gets ration. SP MLA Rahul Lodhi said that the government says that Rs. 24 thousand crores have been given for roads but where has it gone. He alleged massive corruption in the streets. State Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dinesh Pratap Singh told the media that Rahul Gandhi comes to Rae Bareli only for picnic, he has nothing to do with the public. After Disha’s meeting, Rahul Gandhi left for Lucknow by road, from where he is scheduled to go to Delhi.
Disha’s meeting was attended by Amethi MP Kishori Lal Sharma, Cabinet Minister Manoj Kumar Pandey, Minister of State Dinesh Pratap Singh, Harchandpur MLA Rahul Lodhi, Salon MLA Ashok Kumar, Bachhrawan MLA Shyam Sundar Bharti and Sareni MLA Devendra Singh, while the absence of Rae Bareli MLA Aditi Singh was in discussion. On this occasion, District Magistrate Sarneet Kaur Broka, Superintendent of Police Ravi Singh, Chief Development Officer, Project Director Munish Chandra and officials of many departments were present.
