Delhi: There is big news for the candidates of NEET-SS 2025. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has reduced the qualifying percentile of NEET-SS 2025 from 50th to 30th percentile. NBEMS said in the notice issued on Tuesday (22 September 2026) that this decision has been taken in the context of the letter of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the order of the Supreme Court dated 17 September 2026.
Declared qualified in NEET-SS 2025
Candidates who have scored 30th percentile or above in their respective paper group under the revised criteria have been declared qualified in NEET-SS 2025. After this NBEMS has shared the revised result with the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), DGHS and Health Ministry.
No change in group-specific ranks declared earlier
According to NBEMS, there has been no change in the Question Paper Group-specific Rank of NEET-SS 2025 declared on January 23, 2026. Also, no new scorecard will be issued for the candidates. That is, eligible candidates will get the benefit of revised qualifying cutoff, but their earlier declared group-specific rank will not change.

The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has clarified that there is no change in the group-specific ranks of the NEET-SS 2025 question paper declared on January 23, 2026. Also, no new score card will be issued.
Claim for NEET-SS 2025 will be canceled
The total marks (in percentage) obtained by the candidate in all MBBS professional examinations given in his/her NEET-SS 2025 application form will be verified from the original documents at the time of admission by the counselling/admission authority. The score card issued to the candidates will mention the total MBBS marks awarded by them in the application form, wherever these total marks have been used to break the tie of NEET-SS 2025 rank. If it is found that the information provided in the NEET-SS 2025 application form is incorrect and this criteria has been used to resolve the tie of the concerned candidate, his/her candidature for NEET-SS 2025 will be cancelled.
If candidates are found using unfair means in the examination at any stage, such punitive action as deemed appropriate by NBEMS/MCC/Counselling authority will be taken against such candidates. If any such candidate is declared successful in NEET-SS 2025, the result/candidature of such candidates will be canceled and/or treated as cancelled.
