New Delhi/Mumbai. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has spoken to the family members of IIT Bombay student Sahil Wakode. Student Sahil had allegedly committed suicide on the IIT Powai campus last week. Maharashtra Congress on Thursday informed that Rahul Gandhi has spoken on phone to the family members of IIT Bombay student Sahil Wakode. Rahul has extended his support to the victim’s family and assured all possible help in getting justice.
Youth Congress will also hold a press conference regarding this matter on Thursday afternoon. In this, the further strategy and direction of the movement regarding the Sahil Wakode case is likely to be announced. After the death of Sahil, his family has made serious allegations against the IIT Bombay administration and some officials. The case is currently being investigated by the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police.
Let us tell you that student Sahil had allegedly committed suicide after being found using a mobile phone during the examination. He was a second year student in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering. According to the institute, Wacode tried to get answers to questions from ChatGPT during the exam.
The examination instructor and the head of the department discussed the matter with the student. The institute said that they explained to the student and assured him that this incident will not have any adverse impact on his career. After the conversation, Vakode returned to his hostel room. Later that evening he was found dead in his room. Students had protested after the incident. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Mumbai Crime Branch recorded the statement of Sahil’s parents in the case. The parents demanded the immediate arrest of Professor Suryanarayan Dulla.
