Amethi. After a video of the private nursing home Om Sai Hospital and Maternity Center located in Gauriganj, Amethi district headquarters of Uttar Pradesh, went viral, questions have started being raised on the cleanliness system of the hospital.
In the viral video, a female cleaner is purportedly seen cleaning the patient’s bed with the same mop after mopping the floor. It is being told that the video was made by the relatives of a patient admitted in the hospital.
It is noteworthy that along with treatment of male and female patients, deliveries are also conducted in the hospital. In such a situation, this method of cleaning has increased concerns regarding infection control and patient safety.
It is important to clean patients’ beds as per prescribed hygiene standards, so that the risk of spreading infection can be reduced. It is said that Dr. SN Singh and Dr. Manisha Singh treat patients in the hospital.
After delivery, newborn babies are also kept in the ward with the mother, making the responsibility of cleanliness and infection control in the hospital more important.
In this matter, Amethi’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anshuman Singh said that Om Sai Hospital is registered in his office. He has said that an investigation will be conducted in the case of viral video and action will be taken as per rules.
Now the eyes are on the investigation of the health department. If neglect of hygiene standards is confirmed in the hospital, what action will be taken against those responsible will be clear after the findings of the investigation.
