Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi meet Ankita Bhandari's family, demand fair justice

New Delhi. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress General Secretary and MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday met the family of Ankita Bhandari who was protesting at India Gate. Both the leaders expressed support for the family’s demand for justice.

Ankita Bhandari, 19, from Uttarakhand, was murdered at a resort near Rishikesh in September 2022. Resort owner Pulkit Arya and two of his employees were convicted in this case. However, the family is also demanding an impartial investigation into the role of the alleged ‘VIP’ in the case.

The family is also opposed to the appointment of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dushyant Kumar Gautam as the Governor of Sikkim. The family members have demanded that his appointment be put on hold until the investigation into the alleged VIP aspect is completed. Congress has raised questions on the central government and the BJP on this issue and has demanded justice for the family. At the same time, the main demand of the family is an impartial investigation into the alleged VIP aspect and answers to all the questions related to the case.
