1. Amidst the preparations for the world television premiere of 'Bhoot Bangla', in your opinion, how important is it to have such a reason and thought in the story of a fantasy film, with which the audience can relate?
Akshay Kumar: I believe that there should be some reason behind everything, even if it is a fantasy world. When you read a comic book, there is a reason behind each character's strength. Where do these powers come from? How does a person change and why does his appearance change? There is a reason behind every change. Even when you talk about extraordinary characters and imaginary situations, it is important to explain the reason behind them. This helps the audience understand and connect with the world you've created.
2. On the occasion of the world television premiere of 'Bhoot Bangla', why do you think horror comedies entertain the audience so much? And what should they expect from the film?
Akshay Kumar: I think the combination of horror and comedy is very interesting. When you watch a scary scene, you remain tense and wait to see what is going to happen. Then suddenly a funny moment comes and all the tension ends. People start laughing. This combination is what makes movies like this so fun. But comedy should emerge from the situation on its own and cannot be forced.
The same effort is being made with 'Bhoot Bangla' that the audience should get both types of experiences. One moment they get scared and the next moment they start laughing. Now that the film is premiering on Zee Cinema, families can enjoy all the fun and madness together from the comfort of their homes. Just sit back, enjoy the movie and don't be surprised if you burst into laughter at a moment when you least expect it.
3. Comedy often comes out of situations that no one expects. How useful is your own sense of humor while performing a scene?
Akshay Kumar: I think comedy completely depends on saying the right thing at the right time and paying attention to the things around you. We come across many such funny situations in everyday life, but at that time we do not even realize how much comedy there is in them. As actors, we get a chance to bring those small things on screen. Sometimes a simple facial expression or a brief pause can elicit more laughs than a long dialogue. In a film like 'Bhoot Bangla', where the situations are so unique, the fun lies in how naturally you react to them. As a character you have to take the situation seriously, even if the audience is laughing at it. This is what makes comedy effective.
