BMW Vision CE: BMW electric bike that will stand on its own without a stand! Patents in India, what are the special features?

BMW Motorrad, known for bringing new technology to the world of electric bikes, has filed a patent in India for its futuristic electric two-wheeler BMW Vision CE. The most talked about concept electric bike is its self-balancing technology. That is, this bike can maintain its own balance.
Apart from this, it also features features like a strong cage-like structure and possible advanced sensors for rider safety. However, the filing of the patent does not mean that this bike will enter the Indian market soon. The company has not announced the official date of its launch yet.

After BMW Motorrad’s CE 02 and CE 04 electric models, the Vision CE concept has come into the limelight. The main features of this concept are different design, balance technology and special emphasis on safety than conventional scooters.

Balance yourself without a stand!

The most attractive feature of the BMW Vision CE is its self-balancing system. With this technology, the concept of maintaining the balance of the vehicle even when it is stationary has been introduced. So, there is a possibility that the rider will not need to put his feet on the ground while stopping at the traffic signal.

These systems may use technologies such as sensors and electric actuators. However, the company is yet to announce the complete functionality and final technical details of this system. The stand can be used when parking the vehicle for a long time. Whether the battery can be saved by turning off the self-balancing system at that time will also be clear after the actual production model comes out.

Strong cage for rider safety

Rider safety has been given special importance in the design of BMW Vision CE. The concept features a strong cage-like structure around the vehicle. The purpose behind it is to provide additional protection to the rider in the event of an accident or vehicle breakdown.

The front of the vehicle features a tubular steel frame designed to provide protection around the rider’s legs. Apart from this, the concept also includes four-point seatbelts, body side protection elements and foam cushioning.

Due to this design, an attempt has been made to give the two-wheeler a car-like safety experience. However, there is no official information yet on what safety features the actual production model will have and what regulations will apply. It cannot be concluded that the concept design will eliminate the need for helmets or other protective equipment.

What will be the range and performance?

The official information about battery capacity, motor power, torque, range and top speed of BMW Vision CE is yet to be announced. It is possible that some of the technology from the BMW CE 04 could be used in this concept. However, this has not been officially confirmed.

Some versions of the BMW CE 04 feature an 8.5 kWh battery, a range of around 130 km, 42 hp of power, 62 Nm of torque and a top speed of 120 kmph. These figures correspond to CE 04; Vision CE has no official specifications.

When will it be launched in India?

Currently there is no official announcement regarding the price, battery capacity, actual range and launch date of this electric bike. So, we have to wait for the company’s next announcement to know when the BMW Vision CE will enter the Indian market.
