However, the allegations will be confirmed through investigation and legal process.
Time and place of incident
The incident took place on the night of October 14 at Shivshahi Building in Goregaon East. Initially the police had registered a case of accidental death, but on the basis of CCTV footage and the family's complaint, an FIR was registered for murder.
Story of missing girl
Girl was playing with cat, suddenly went missing
According to the family, the 18-month-old girl was playing with a cat in the common corridor outside her house between around 9 and 9:30 pm. When she was not seen after some time, her mother sent her 12-year-old son to search for her.
The child searched around but could not find her. Then he looked into the open duct near the stairs, where he saw a girl lying dressed like her sister. He immediately informed his mother about this. Society people took the injured girl to the hospital, but the doctors declared her dead.
mother's statement
Mother said- It is difficult to fall from the three and a half feet high railing.
The girl's mother told the police that the railing on the sixth floor was about three and a half feet high. He says that it is not possible for such a small girl to cross the railing and fall down on her own. The mother alleges that in the CCTV footage, the neighbor girl first calls her daughter near the lift with a gesture and then picks her up in her lap and pushes her into the open duct.
family of the accused
The family had come to live in the society only two weeks ago.
According to the report, the family of the 10-year-old girl, who is said to be the accused, had come to live in the society about two weeks before the incident. After the incident, his family left the place and started living with relatives. The family of the deceased girl also alleged that the minor's relatives had switched off the society's CCTV cameras to hide the incident. Police is also investigating this claim.
Juvenile Justice Board action
Juvenile Justice Board gave instructions for counselling.
The police presented the minor girl before the Juvenile Justice Board. According to the report, the board directed him to undergo counseling and left him in the care of his parents. In this case, the legal process is important considering the age of the minor. According to Indian law, a child under the age of seven cannot be held criminally responsible for any crime.
Therefore, registration of an FIR for murder does not mean that the charges have been proved or that the minor has been convicted. The final conclusion in the case will be reached only after police investigation and further process under the applicable Juvenile Justice Act.
