Uddhav Thackeray said – seeking justice is not Naxalism

Mumbai Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Party president Uddhav Thackeray said in Mumbai on Tuesday that taking to the streets to get justice is not Naxalism at any cost. Uddhav Thackeray also questioned the role of police on the firing on Tiger Shroff and asked how the pistol-wielding accused reached Mumbai even after the blockade.

Uddhav Thackeray was addressing the Dussehra Milan function organized by Shiv Sena UBT at Shivaji Park on Tuesday. Uddhav Thackeray said that under which law is it a crime to demand to hoist the tricolor in the country? If the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner of the Election Commission is being sought then what is wrong in it. How can this be justified that the police is lathicharged on the youth who raise their voice on these issues? If the administration is not listening then people have hope from the court. But if the court also delivers justice late, then it is natural to spread dissatisfaction among the people. To what extent is it appropriate to lathicharge on such movements? Many freedom fighters of the same age as the youth who are being beaten today had carried out the revolution when the country became independent.

Referring to the attack on actor Tiger Shroff, Uddhav Thackeray raised questions on the functioning of the state government and the police. Thackeray said, “Tiger Shroff is lucky that he survived. But if the bullet had hit above and the police had caught the attacker, what would have been the benefit?” He alleged that the government is not fulfilling the responsibility of maintaining law and order properly and the entire responsibility has been left to the police.

Uddhav Thackeray also raised questions regarding the movement of attackers and the police blockade. He asked how the attackers reached there when the police was handling the security arrangements. He said that if the police has to take action only after an incident, then why security arrangements are not strengthened to prevent such incidents in the first place?

Uddhav Thackeray also raised questions on the alleged claim of the Maharashtra government that the state was the center of urban Naxalites. He asked the government which cities of Maharashtra have the problem of Naxalism. He alleged that instead of giving concrete answers from the government regarding criminal incidents in the state, other issues are being raised.

Referring to Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Uddhav Thackeray raised questions on the increasing criminal activities and security arrangements in Maharashtra. He said that Bishnoi is lodged in Sabarmati jail, while his gang claims to be a large number of shooters. Challenging Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Thackeray said, “If you really have courage then go to Sabarmati and bring Lawrence Bishnoi and then talk.”
