Arvind Kejriwal’s first reaction after Justice Swarnkanta Sharma’s decision, said – I will comment only after reading the order.
Giving his first reaction to the decision of Swarna Kanta Sharma in the excise policy case, Arvind Kejriwal has said that he will make any detailed comment only after reading the court order. Kejriwal, who reached Chennai to campaign for Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, told the media that he was there yesterday also and will now return to Delhi and read the order carefully.
He said, “I have put my point before the court. I cannot say anything more than this right now.” This matter is related to Delhi High Court, where various petitions regarding excise policy matter are being heard and decisions are being given. Arvind Kejriwal made a sharp political attack on the central government over the delimitation issue during the election campaign in Chennai and showed solidarity with the opposition parties. Kejriwal said that all parties are united on this issue as it is an attack on democracy. They alleged that the proposed delimitation would discriminate against southern states and could affect their political representation.
He met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Praising Stalin, he said he was “doing good work” and any leader working in the public interest should be supported. Kejriwal said that the political presence of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Tamil Nadu is limited and it should not be given excessive importance.
Swarn Kanta Sharma rejected the plea of Arvind Kejriwal and other petitioners seeking to recuse them from hearing the Liquor Policy (Excise Policy) case. The Delhi High Court clarified that Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma has refused to recuse herself from the case. The court said that no concrete reason was found on the basis of which he should be removed from hearing the case.
