The women's squash team confirmed the bronze medal, while in wrestling, Nitesh kept the medal hopes alive by making it to the semi-finals and Mansi Ahlawat to the quarter-finals. Yamini Maurya also reached the quarter finals in Judo.
India got medal in selig
The pair of Indian sailors Manu Francis and Prince Kurisinkal Noble performed brilliantly and won the silver medal in the men's skiff event on Thursday. This is India's first medal in the sailing event of the Asian Games. Today the Indian pair did not have a good start to the day and after the 8th race they slipped to fourth place. Nitesh's strong performance in wrestling
In the 97 kg category of Greco-Roman wrestling, Nitish performed brilliantly and entered the semi-finals. In the quarterfinals he defeated Amanberdy Agamammedov of Turkmenistan 7–1. Nitesh had taken a lead of 7-0 in the first period of the match itself. Now in the semi-finals he may face either Gankhuyag Ganbaatar of Mongolia or Lee Min-ho of South Korea.
Mansi Ahlawat also in quarter finals
In the women's 62 kg category, Mansi Ahlawat defeated Irina Kuznetsova of Kazakhstan 6-1 to reach the quarter-finals. Now Mansi will face South Korea's Jo Subin. Medal hopes now hinge on the performance of the Indian wrestler.
Aman lost, way open for repechage
In the Greco-Roman 77 kg category, Indian wrestler Aman had to face defeat against the reigning Asian champion Shaheen Badaghimofrad of Qatar. Shaheen maintained the pressure from the beginning and won the match on the basis of technical superiority. However, if Shaheen reaches the finals, Aman may get a chance to enter the repechage round.
Yamini Maurya in Judo quarter finals
Yamini Maurya made a great start in the women's 57 kg judo category. She defeated Fatana Bu-Kahos of Qatar by ippon and made the quarter-finals. Now Yamini will face Mongolia's Ariunjaya Terbish.
Chikita's dream of hat-trick of medals shattered
In compound archery, Chikita Taniparthy lost in the quarterfinals of the women's individual event. This ended his hopes of winning his third consecutive medal in the Asian Games. Chikita had earlier won gold medals in the women's team and mixed team compound events. In the quarter-finals she was defeated by Nurisa Dian Asrifah of Indonesia 144-143.
