Indian shooter Elavenil Valarivan has given India its second silver medal in the Asian Games. After finishing second in the team event, she also performed well in the individual category and won the silver medal in the Women's 10 Meter Air Rifle event.
World Championship 2025 bronze medalist Elavenil scored 252.4 points in the final and finished behind Japan's Hinata Taichi. The Japanese player created an Asian Games record and won the gold medal with a score of 253.0 points. Hyojin Ban of South Korea won the bronze medal with 230.4 points.

Elavenil could also win gold
Elavenil was just 0.3 points behind Taichi in the last two shots. He scored 10.4 against the Japanese shooter's 10.6, increasing the gap to 0.5. The Indian player needed a good performance in the final shot to change the color of the medal but he scored 10.1. Taichi maintained his composure and won the gold medal by scoring 10.2 and created a new record of the Asian Games.

Sonam Muskar, the second shooter from India to reach the final of this event, finished sixth. This was Elavenil's second medal of the day. Earlier, she along with Sonam Muskar and Vinod of Vidrasa had won the silver medal in the Women's 10 meter Air Rifle team event.
