Double gold in compound archery : The performance of Indian archers in the Asian Games held in Japan has made the country proud. At the Asian Games on Wednesday, India's compound mixed archery pair – Chikita Taniparthy and Sahil Jadhav defeated Korea in a thrilling shoot-off to win the gold medal. With this he has achieved 2028 Olympic quota. Earlier in the same event, the Indian women's team had also won the gold medal.

Both the Indian archery teams successfully retained the titles that India had won in the previous Games held in Hangzhou. Chiquita and Sahil displayed tremendous courage to defeat Korea's Jungeun Park and Choi Eun Gyu in a thrilling final; After a shoot-off they won 158–157. China's Fangyao F Wei and Jinyi Liu won the bronze medal. The Indian pair reached the gold medal match by defeating Thailand 156-155 in the semi-finals.
This victory came when the Indian women's compound team performed brilliantly and defeated China's trio of Wunier, Yue Wang and Fangyao Wei 238-234 and retained their gold medal with a score equal to the world record. Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chiquita and Prithika Pradeep dominated the women's final to finish on top of the podium. Of these, Jyoti was also a part of the women's team that won gold in Hangzhou.
