India won the gold medal by defeating Iran in the thrilling final match played on Saturday. With this victory, India has also avenged the defeat against Iran in the final of the 2018 Asian Games. This is the fourth gold medal for the Indian women's Kabaddi team in the history of the Asian Games, while Iran had to be satisfied with the silver medal. Taiwan and Nepal have won bronze medals in this competition.
It was an exciting start to the day for the Indian athletes on September 26 at Aichi-Nagoya in Japan. Earlier in the day, Sawan Barwal had won the silver medal in the marathon, while India had also won the silver medal in the women's rifle 3 positions team event.
