Asim Riaz, runner-up of Bigg Boss 13, has denied ever asking his former partner Himanshi Khurana to change her religion, responding to her recent remarks about their past relationship. In a detailed Instagram post on Sunday, the model-turned-rapper addressed the issue without naming Khurana directly, following her discussion of their differing faiths during a recent podcast.
Asim stated, “I never asked anyone to change their religion. Not once. Matter of fact, I was the one who pushed you towards fitness. You’ve been in this shape only after meeting me before that, everyone knew how you looked.” He urged people not to use religious issues to portray him negatively, describing religion as a “deeply sensitive subject” and expressing that personal matters should not become public controversies. He added, “So please, don’t use religion as a weapon. It’s a deeply sensitive subject, and turning something so personal into a reason for people to hate me is immature and only shows how low you’re willing to go for attention.”
In the post, Asim also criticized Paras Chhabra, who was reportedly part of the discussion on this topic. He advised him to spend less time discussing others and more time focusing on his own fitness, writing, “And to the man behind the microphone, sitting there with his stomach hanging out like a pig while making gossip his profession, brother, respectfully, I’d suggest spending a little less time discussing other people’s lives and a little more time in the gym.”
The controversy arose after Himanshi Khurana spoke about reports concerning her consideration of religious conversion during her relationship with Asim. She clarified that she would not term it “conversion” and explained that her former boyfriend shared the positive aspects of his religion with her and sought her understanding and respect.
Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurana met on Bigg Boss 13 and maintained a relationship for several years thereafter. They announced their separation in 2023 after approximately four years together.
