Assam: Before taking oath as CM, Himanta said – Our aim is to implement the manifesto.

Guwahati. Assam’s acting Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, ahead of the Prime Minister’s arrival for the swearing-in ceremony to be held on May 12, said that the Prime Minister will reach Guwahati tonight. The new government of Assam will be sworn in at 11 am on Tuesday. Talking to reporters, he said that the swearing-in ceremony will be attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP President Nitin Naveen along with Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers of all NDA ruled states and several ministers in the Central Government.

Himanta Biswa Sarma said that in this grand function, all the party workers from our booth president to the entire Assam will be present in the function. He said that he will hold the first cabinet meeting after taking oath. Our manifesto is before the public. Our aim will be to implement the manifesto. Regarding the presence of women in the swearing-in ceremony, he said that not only women will be present in the ceremony, mothers and sisters will also bless us from home.

The picture became clear on Sunday regarding the formation of the new government in Assam. On Sunday, the Assam Chief Minister’s Office had written in X Post that under Article 164 (1) of the Constitution of India, the Governor has appointed Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma as the Chief Minister of Assam. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be held on May 12 at 11:40 am in Khanapara, Guwahati.

Earlier, Himanta Biswa Sarma was unanimously elected leader in the meeting of BJP Legislature Party and NDA Legislature Party. BJP had given special responsibility on behalf of the central leadership to complete the process of formation of the new government. The party had made Union minister JP Nadda an observer, while Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was appointed co-observer. Both the leaders played an important role in the legislative party meeting and government formation process in Assam.
