Actually, electric two-wheeler manufacturing company Ather Energy is going to launch its first mass-market electric scooter on August 29 on ‘Ather Community Day 2026’.
The special feature of this scooter is that this new model will be based on the company’s new EL platform. The arrival of this new model will further strengthen Ather’s electric scooter range. Currently, the company’s portfolio includes the 450 and Rizta series electric scooters.
The upcoming new electric scooter will target the Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.25 lakh price segment, thereby expanding the company’s footprint in the mass-market scooter segment.
The EL platform is Ather Energy’s first completely new vehicle architecture since the 450 platform. Designed for greater versatility, scalability, and manufacturability, it will support the company’s future product portfolio across various segments.
The assembly line image reveals that the production scooter is largely similar to the EL01 concept shown last year. It features a handlebar-mounted headlamp, a vertically styled front apron, and wide LED daytime running lights (DRLs), while its overall shape closely resembles Ather’s filed design patent.
One of the biggest changes is the use of metal body panels, replacing the polymer bodywork used on the company’s current scooters. The new scooter also features a longer single-piece seat and a flat floorboard, indicating a greater focus on practicality and everyday usability compared to Ather’s sporty 450 lineup.
