Audi India ready to compete with BMW X1, booking for Next-Gen Q3 started

Automobile Desk – With an aim to further expand its strong hold in the luxury four-wheeler segment, Audi India has started accepting official bookings for the new avatar of its popular SUV Audi Q3 in India. Auto enthusiasts or new buyers can pre-book this new luxury car by paying a token amount of just ₹1 lakh. There is every possibility of this much-awaited SUV being introduced in the Indian automobile market by October.

This new generation SUV, which was recently showcased, is seeing extensive changes compared to the previous model. The company has not only made its exterior style more aggressive and modern, but has also redesigned its cabin and features list.

Increase in size and new aggressive design

The body dimensions of the new Audi Q3 have been improved, making it look sportier and more muscular on the road than before. The total length of this vehicle has been kept at 4,531 mm, width at 1,859 mm and height at 1,623 mm. Along with this, it has a long wheelbase of 2,681 mm. Due to this increase in dimensions, legroom and overall space for passengers inside the cabin has increased significantly.

Talking about the look, the front profile has Audi's signature large grille along with new split LED headlights. The rear side gets split taillamps with a modern full-width connected light bar, which gives the car a distinct visual identity at night.

Hi-tech cabin and new features

The interior of the vehicle now offers a more luxurious and tech-savvy experience than ever before. A large 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment console and an 11.9-inch fully digital cluster for the driver are provided on the dashboard. To make the cabin neat and ergonomic, the gear selector has been removed from the center console and shifted behind the steering column.

The features list includes a panoramic sunroof, premium sound system from Sonos, wireless connectivity (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), ambient cabin lighting and 360-degree view camera. Apart from this, Audi is also offering advanced driver-assistance technology like Autonomous Parking Assist.

Powerful engine and all-wheel-drive

In terms of performance, this SUV can be provided with a 2.0-litre capacity 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which is capable of generating 204 hp power and 320 Nm peak torque. This powerplant is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Audi's trademark 'quattro' all-wheel-drive (AWD) system is expected to be available as standard. According to claims, this SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.1 seconds, while its top speed is said to be 229 kmph.

Potential price and competition

The ex-showroom price of this locally assembled luxury SUV is expected to be in the range of ₹55 lakh to ₹60 lakh. After entering the Indian auto market, it will compete directly with its established class rivals BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.
