Auto News: In a significant achievement, Force Motors has completed the production of the 2 lakhth engine for Mercedes-Benz at its state-of-the-art powertrain plant in Chakan. This historic engine is a 6-cylinder M256 unit, which is destined to be used in the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 luxury SUV.
Partnership continues since 1997

This achievement reflects the strong partnership between Force Motors and Mercedes-Benz since 1997. Initially this collaboration was limited to component supply only, but over time it expanded and now Force Motors also manufactures and assembles engines and axles for select Mercedes-Benz cars and SUVs made in India.

Plant prepared as per German standards
This special powertrain plant located in Chakan, Pune has been developed in accordance with Mercedes-Benz global quality and engineering standards. The production process here adheres to the highest levels of quality, precision and technical standards, ensuring that each engine meets the company’s global requirements.

These engines are made for Mercedes-Benz

M256 engine
This is a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which is used in the Mercedes-Benz GLS. Apart from this, this engine has also been used in models like E-Class, GLE and pre-facelift S-Class.

M254 engine
The 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine M254 powers models like the E-Class, GLC and C-Class. This engine is known for superior performance and fuel efficiency.

OM654 engine
Force Motors also manufactures the OM654 turbo-diesel engine. This engine is used in several Mercedes-Benz models including the GLE, E-Class, GLC and C-Class and is popular for its performance and refinement.
