Baloch human rights organization PANK has condemned the alleged enforced disappearance of three Baloch people in Quetta, Pakistan. The organization has demanded Pakistani authorities to immediately provide information about the whereabouts of the three people and ensure their safety.
Pank said in a post on social media platform X that the incidents of alleged targeted and forced disappearance of students and civilians are a serious violation of human rights. The organization said that such incidents are creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among the people in Balochistan.
Asif Ali's disappearance allegation
According to Pank, Asif Ali was allegedly forcefully taken from his house on August 1, 2026 at around 4 pm. The organization alleged that people from Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) were responsible for his disappearance.
Case of 17 year old Asfand Baloch
The organization also raised the issue of the alleged disappearance of 17-year-old Asfand Baloch. According to Pank, Asfand was allegedly forcibly taken from Killi Almas Airport Road in Quetta around 4 am on August 4, 2026.
Pank alleged that people from ISI, CTD and Military Intelligence (MI) were involved in this incident.
Concern about Wajid Baloch also
Pank also condemned the alleged enforced disappearance of Wajid Baloch. According to the organization, Wajid was allegedly picked up from Qambrani Road in Kashmir Abad, Quetta at around 1 am on August 10, 2024.
The organization alleged that the Counter Terrorism Department had a role in Wajid's disappearance. Pank said that Wajid's family has been facing uncertainty and mental distress for a long time.
Appeal for intervention from the international community
Pank called incidents of enforced disappearance a serious violation of international human rights law. The organization said such incidents remove people from legal protection and expose them to risks such as torture.
The organization demanded the Pakistan government to make public the whereabouts of Asif Ali, Asfand Baloch and Wajid Baloch, ensure their safety and release them immediately.
Along with this, Pank has appealed to the United Nations, international human rights organizations and the global community to pay attention to the incidents of alleged forced disappearance in Balochistan and ensure accountability.
