After the Independence Day celebrations, a new controversy has arisen in the country's politics regarding the national song 'Vande Mataram'. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in a public meeting held in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan on Sunday, has made a very serious allegation on the Congress Party of insulting the national song 'Vande Mataram'. Amit Shah has directly demanded that the Congress Party should publicly apologize with folded hands to the common people of the country and the immortal litterateur Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay who composed this historical song.
Sonia Gandhi accused of stopping the national anthem midway
While addressing the people at the 'Atal Gaurav Smriti Samaroh' organized on the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Chittorgarh, the Home Minister mentioned the incident that happened on Independence Day. Amit Shah alleged that during the August 15 flag hoisting program at the Congress headquarters, senior party leader Sonia Gandhi asked to stop the 'Vande Mataram' song midway. He said that we all have seen this incident live on television. Shah alleged that in order to serve its vote bank and pursue appeasement politics, the Congress party has completely forgotten the glorious history of the national song 'Vande Mataram'.
'Thousands of people had taken bullets, if there is any shame left then apologize'
Referring to the freedom struggle, the Union Home Minister said that even after 80 years of independence, 'Vande Mataram' was sung proudly from the Red Fort to all the places in the country where the tricolor was hoisted. He said that this was a revolutionary slogan in India's freedom struggle. While singing this 'Vande Mataram', thousands of our freedom fighters faced bullets and sticks and went to jail laughing. Lashing out at Sonia Gandhi and the Congress leadership, Amit Shah said that if there is even a little shame left in the party, then they should immediately apologize to the people of the country and the immortal soul of Bankim Babu with folded hands.
Remembered the historical contribution of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee
During the ceremony, Amit Shah underlined the historic decisions of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and his contribution to the development of the country. He said that Atal ji took many bold and visionary decisions, which included making India a nuclear-armed country by conducting successful nuclear tests at Pokhran despite immense pressure at the international level. The Vajpayee government connected villages with metalled roads, laid a network of national highways and launched many landmark schemes for infrastructure development during its reign. He also reminded that the credit for creating a separate new ministry for the all-round development of the tribal society in the country also goes to Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Mention of tribal welfare and Draupadi Murmu becoming President
The Home Minister said that the progress of the tribal welfare policies started by Atal ji is visible today in the highest constitutional post of the country. He said that the election of Draupadi Murmu, who came from a poor tribal family, as the President of India is the biggest proof of this. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also carrying forward the same tradition and giving first priority to the welfare of the tribal society.
