Banks will be closed for 4 days next week: Settle essential work on Monday!

Bank Holidays: There are 4 days of bank holidays coming up next week. If you have any important work related to the bank, it is imperative to settle it by Monday, August 24, otherwise you may have to wait for a week. Government and private bank branches will be closed from August 25 to August 30 due to various festivals and Sundays. However, the bank’s ATM and online digital banking transaction (Net Banking / UPI) services will remain operational during this time.

Full Schedule of Bank Holidays (23rd to 30th August 2026)

  • 23 August (Sunday): Banks across the country will remain closed due to the public holiday.
  • August 24 (Monday): Banks will remain open across the country.
  • August 25 (Tuesday): Banks in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram will remain closed on Milad-Unnabi, First Onam and Milad-e-Sharif (banks in other states will remain open).
  • August 26 (Wednesday): Banks will remain closed in major cities like Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Patna, Lucknow, Nagpur, Ranchi and Raipur on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad / Barawfat / Milad-Unnabi.
  • August 28 (Friday): Banks will be closed in Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kochi and North-Eastern states due to Rakshabandhan Parva and regional festivals.
  • August 29 (Saturday): Banks across the country will remain open as it is the fifth Saturday of the month (banks are closed only on the second and fourth Saturdays).
  • 30 August (Sunday): Banks across the country will be closed on Sunday.

Settle the necessary work on Monday itself

As banks open on Monday after the holiday, the branches may witness heavy rush of customers. So if the work can be done online then one should avoid going to the bank branch and it is imperative to complete all important financial transactions on Monday itself.
