According to the guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) under the Negotiable Instruments Act, August 26 has been declared a holiday in banks due to major religious and cultural festivals:

Eid-e-Milad/Barawafat (Milad-un-Nabi): Banks will remain closed in most of the states of the country on the occasion of Prophet Mohammad Sahib's birthday.

In which states and cities will bank branches remain closed?
As per the official holiday table of RBI, banks will remain closed in the following states and circles tomorrow, August 26:

Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand: All government, private and rural banks will remain closed in Lucknow, Kanpur and Dehradun circles due to Eid-e-Milad/Baravafat.

In which states will banks open normally?

Digital services will remain fully operational even if branches remain closed
Even if the physical branch of the bank is closed, account holders do not need to panic:
