The bus going from Shimla in Himachal Pradesh to Nepal reached near Dhaneta railway gate at around 3:30 am on Tuesday morning. During this time he collided with a truck standing on the road. The collision was so strong that there was screaming among the passengers in the bus. Hearing the sound of the accident, nearby villagers reached the spot. With the help of police, they rescued the trapped and injured passengers from the bus.
Police reached the spot after receiving the information and sent the injured to the district hospital with the help of 108 ambulances. One passenger died in the accident. Police are trying to identify him, but till afternoon he could not be identified. Three seriously injured passengers are said to need better treatment. With the help of JCB, the police removed the damaged bus and truck from the road and smoothened the traffic.
The injured admitted in the district hospital said that they work as laborers in Himachal Pradesh and were returning to their village in Nepal to celebrate Diwali. An accident happened on the way before reaching home. Police are searching for the absconding truck driver.
