New Delhi. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced its team for the T20 series against Afghanistan. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has once again got a place in the team. Shreyas Iyer has been made the captain, while Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan are included in the team as wicketkeepers. The first match of the series will be played on 13 September. All the matches of this series will be held at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

7 players have returned to the Indian team. These include Jasprit Bumrah, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana, Washington Sundar, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh and Akshar Patel.
8 players who were part of the team on the Zimbabwe tour have been dropped. These include the names of Rinku Singh, Prabhsimran Singh, Shivam Dubey, Harsh Dubey, Prince Yadav, Mayank Yadav, Ashok Sharma and Yash Thakur.
Playing of 4 players depends on fitness
The playing of Jasprit Bumrah, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar and Harshit Rana will depend on fitness. All of them are returning from injury.
Bumrah was out of the team due to a knee injury during India's ODI series against England. He could not even play in India's two-Test series against Sri Lanka. Reddy, Sundar and Rana are also out of the team.
