Now you can include beetroot puris and parathas in your menu, which takes only 20 minutes to make.
Ingredients of Beetroot Puri:
Wheat flour-2 cups
Finely grated beetroot – 1 cup
Celery-½ tsp
salt as per taste
oil as required
Method of preparation:
First of all, peel and clean the beetroot, cut it finely and boil it in 1 cup of water until it becomes soft. Remove from water and cool. Save the boiled water for later use. If you want, you can also grind the beetroot. After this, take wheat flour, celery, salt and beetroot in a mixing bowl, mix well and add the remaining water of beetroot and knead the dough. Then cover and let it rest for 10 minutes. After that knead and make small balls and roll the dough according to the size of the puri. Heat oil and put the rolled puri in it. While cooking the puri in hot oil, cook it till it swells well and after removing it from the oil, remove the extra oil.
Ingredients of Beetroot Paratha:
Wheat flour-2 cups
Gram flour-2 tbsp
Beetroot-1
coriander leaves
Oil-1 tablespoon
Sesame seeds – 2 tbsp
Red chilli powder or green chilli (optional)
Turmeric-½ tbsp
Asafoetida-¼ tablespoon
and salt as per taste
Ghee for parathas
Method of preparation:
Wash beetroot and coriander and cut it into small pieces. Add wheat flour, gram flour, beetroot puree, coriander leaves, a little oil, sesame seeds, chilli, turmeric and salt and knead the dough. Break the ball of dough and roll the paratha. After that, heat the pan by lighting the gas and add some ghee to the rolled paratha and bake it. And enjoy tasty beetroot paratha.
