Samsung is working on two hard problems for today’s laundry units: using a lot of power and taking up too much room. At IFA 2026 in Berlin, it plans to show two new Bespoke AI Washers.
One model holds 10kg. Samsung says it is built for an A-70% energy goal. The other model is 13kg, with more room for clothes, yet it still fits in a normal European spot that is 600mm deep.
Samsung calls this part of its push to move past the usual trade-off. People often have to choose between bigger loads, lower power use, and easy daily use. Still, the firm notes that the IFA units are not final products. They are test models. Exact specs and when they will be sold are not set yet.
Samsung Expands Bespoke AI Laundry Lineup at IFA 2026
These new washers follow the same direction as earlier Bespoke AI machines. Samsung showed an A-55% Bespoke AI Washer at IFA 2024. After that, it brought an A-65% version to IFA 2025.
For the new 10kg unit, Samsung says it aims for another clear jump. It also changes the size from 9kg to 10kg. In Samsung’s own lab tests, the washer records an EEI of 15.5. Samsung also says this lines up with 15.3 kWh per 100 cycles on the Eco 40–60 setting.
As a point of reference, Samsung says the EU Class A minimum for 10kg models is EEI 52. It adds that its test washer is up to 70.2% more energy-friendly than that bar, under Regulation (EU) No. 2019/2014. More checks will happen before EPREL listing.

Samsung is not banking on just one part to hit the A-70% target. The company says the gain comes from several areas working at once. Motor efficiency, heat control, and the wash program design are meant to cut power use. At the same time, Samsung wants the cleaning results to stay strong.
This shift is easier to see if you look at Samsung’s earlier steps. The brand moved from A-55% to A-65%, and now it is listing A-70%. The goal seems tied to making bigger loads use less electricity at home.
One more point matters here. The “A-70%” label is tied to how much energy the washer uses against the European Class A minimum. It does not mean the unit uses 70% of the power of any one specific washer.
13kg Capacity Fits a 600mm Footprint With SpaceMax
Samsung’s other big laundry reveal at IFA 2026 takes a different direction. This model, a 13kg Bespoke AI Washer, focuses more on space issues than on energy alone. Large-capacity machines can be hard to place in tight rooms, so Samsung designed around that problem.
With SpaceMax™ tech, Samsung increased the inside room. It did this without making the outside bigger. The washer keeps a standard 600mm depth and a 24-inch style outline. That should help the larger drum fit more easily in European kitchens, utility areas, and built-in furniture setups.
This helps homes that wash bedding, towels, and other large items often, but do not have room for a deeper washer. Samsung’s guide says typical 13kg models may need about 650 to 700mm of depth. So a 600mm unit can free up real space in tight laundry areas.
It also uses Samsung’s mono-body style. The front looks slim, and the overall shape is more even. That design is meant to sit better in modern rooms. There is a big touchscreen built near the detergent area. From there, you can run wash settings and use extra connected options.
Auto Open Door and AI-Powered Laundry
Samsung is pushing smart functions in both models too. Auto Open Door is one of the easiest features to notice. When a cycle ends, the door opens bit by bit instead of staying sealed. This is meant to let leftover moisture escape from the drum. That way, the inside can feel cleaner between washes.
There is also a wider Bespoke AI set of tools. You get AI Ecobubble, AI Wash+, and SmartThings AI Energy Mode. AI Ecobubble is made for colder washes. AI Wash+ uses sensing to change the wash for the fabric and the size of the load. With SmartThings, you can check on the cycle and manage energy use from your device.
Pricing, Availability, And Next Steps
Samsung has not said the final prices yet. It also has not confirmed the dates when shoppers will be able to buy either model. The devices shown at IFA 2026 are display units from the development stage. Samsung also warns that specs could shift before they go on sale.
The editorial plan expects a European launch in late 2026 or in early 2027. Still, that is not a firm date. Treat it as a guess until Samsung posts its own confirmation.
The key updates will likely be final EPREL tests. After that come regional model numbers, clear pricing, and the exact stores or pages where the units will be available.
