Punjab News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann organized the event at Saffron Palms in Dhuri. 'Tiyaan Da Fair' Took part in. During this, he emphasized the achievements of the daughters and women of Punjab, their economic empowerment and the need to save the cultural heritage of the state. The Chief Minister said that the daughters of Punjab are today achieving success in every field and playing a strong role in the progress of the state.
Emphasis on making women financially strong
The Chief Minister told that 'Mavan-Dhiyan Hospitality Scheme' Under this, more than 75 lakh women are being given assistance of Rs 1,000 to 1,500 every month. Till August 1, 2026, 75.24 lakh women have received Samman Rashi and Rs 2,274.42 crore has been deposited directly into the bank accounts of eligible women. He said that other women will also get this benefit soon on the occasion of Rakhi.
He said that in the last four years about 29,000 self-help groups have been created, from which approximately 3 lakh women Are connected. Interest-free loans worth Rs 631 crore have been given to these groups. Women are also getting the facility of free travel in government buses of Punjab.
Punjab's culture related to 'Tiyaan Da Mela'
Bhagwant Mann said that 'Tiyaan Da Mela' is a symbol of the rich culture, folk traditions and folk songs of Punjab. Tiyan is a festival of joy, enthusiasm and mutual interaction, which is especially associated with the daughters, sisters and women of Punjab. He said that Giddha, dialects, folk songs, Phulkari, Punjabi attire and traditional folk arts are the identity of Punjab.
The Chief Minister said that in the digital era, it is important to connect children and youth with their roots. Such events help in connecting the new generation with the Punjabi language, folk songs, folk dances, costumes and traditions.
Punjab's daughters are progressing in every field
The Chief Minister said that the women of Punjab are proving their talent in every field including education, sports, administration, business, arts and agriculture. Out of 23 districts of the state, 9 districts have women Deputy Commissioners and 8 districts have women Senior Superintendents of Police. He described this as an example of women getting opportunities.
He said that without the participation of women in administration, economy and politics, Punjab cannot progress in the country. Women should play an active role in the decision making process.
Mention of other government schemes also
The Chief Minister said that Chief Minister Health Scheme Under this, every family is getting cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh. So far, cashless treatment worth Rs 1,100 crore has been provided to more than 3 lakh patients. There are 1,090 Aam Aadmi clinics running in the state, where about 92,000 people get treatment every day. Inflow of about 6 crore patients has been recorded in their OPD.
He said that for the first time canal water has reached the fields of 1,587 villages. Rs 7,200 crore has been spent to provide canal water to every farm. The area under canal irrigation has increased from 20.89 lakh acres in 2022 to 60.30 lakh acres now, while the total area under canal irrigation has increased from 26 percent to 80 percent. Farmers are also being provided electricity for farming during the day.
Apart from this, 45,000 km of roads are being renovated and upgraded in Punjab. From July 2022, about 90 percent of the houses are getting free electricity and they are getting zero electricity bills. The Chief Minister said that more than 69,000 jobs have been given to the youth on the basis of merit.
Message of peace and 'Rangla Punjab'
The Chief Minister said that the Punjab government is working to promote peace, brotherhood and quality education in the state. He said that strengthening the youth through education and skills is the priority of the government.
Taking aim at the divisive forces, he said that the seeds of hatred cannot grow on the sacred soil of Punjab. He talked about following the path of humanity, peace and brotherhood shown by the great Guru Sahiban, saints, pirs and prophets.
He appealed to the people to come together to celebrate the happiness, culture and heritage of the daughters of Punjab. The Chief Minister said that the government 'Rangla Punjab' Which becomes an example for the world in preserving and celebrating its cultural heritage along with development. Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljeet Kaur, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann and other dignitaries were present in the program.
