Bhim Jayanti 2026: Grand celebration across Maharashtra, crowd of lakhs gathered at Chaityabhoomi-Deekshabhoomi

Many social and educational programs were organized across the state on the occasion of Bhim Jayanti. Efforts were made to spread Babasaheb’s ideas to the masses through book displays, blood donation camps, awareness campaigns and seminars.

An exhibition of rare photographs related to Babasaheb’s life has been organized at Chaityabhoomi by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, which includes historical documents and important glimpses of his life.

On this occasion many distinguished leaders and ministers paid tribute to Babasaheb. In his address, he said that Dr. Ambedkar gave a new direction to India’s economy. His ideas played an important role in the establishment of the Reserve Bank of India.

A grand artwork of Baba Saheb was prepared in Kalyan through 448 articles of the Constitution, which attracted everyone’s attention. In Sindhudurg, tribute was paid through sand art, while in Nandurbar students expressed their unique respect by making a miniature replica of him on a pen.

A lighting sketch of 135 square feet was prepared in Bhusaval, which remained the center of attraction from a distance.

The birth anniversary was celebrated with drums and fireworks from midnight in Nagpur. Large scale programs were also organized in cities like Pune, Solapur, Dhule, Beed, Sangli and Mahad.

Selfie points were made near the memorial in Solapur, while “Samta Jyot Rally” was taken out in Beed in which thousands of people participated. A 14 feet high statue of Babasaheb was also inaugurated in Sangli.

In view of the crowd, tight security arrangements have been made across the state. Police force has been deployed and necessary changes have also been made in the traffic system, so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary is not just a celebration but also an opportunity to imbibe his thoughts. His principles of equality, justice and fraternity are still working to give a new direction to the society. The huge crowd that gathered on the occasion of his 135th birth anniversary is proof that Babasaheb’s thoughts are as relevant and inspiring even today.
