Bhumi Pednekar On Female Protester Getting Rape Threats: Actress Bhumi Pednekar has condemned the rape and death threats being received by a young female protester participating in the CJP demonstration. She said that it is wrong to target a woman even if she has a different opinion. However, after this statement of Bhumi, a debate has started once again on social media. Some users have called her move as ‘damage control’ after the earlier controversy.

shared a video on social media, in which she spoke out about online trolling and threats. She explained that she had seen an interview with a young female protester, in which she appeared distressed and scared.

According to Bhumi, after the video went viral, the girl has been receiving rape and death threats. Bhumi said, “Not only the girl, but her mother and family are also receiving such threats. This is absolutely unacceptable.”
Disagreement doesn’t mean intimidation.
Bhumi said that it’s one thing to disagree with someone’s thoughts or opinions, but it’s not right to mentally harass someone for it. She said, “We can’t bully a young girl. We can’t create fear in someone’s mind just because we have a different opinion.”
The actress also said that women already face various forms of harassment and online threats can have a deep impact on their mental health.
Bhumi also shared her own experiences,
saying that as a public figure, she has faced online trolling and hate. She explained that such behavior has a long-lasting impact and can impact a person’s mental state. She urged people to discuss issues important to the country’s progress with peace and solidarity.
