Bihar, Read: Biennial elections to be held on 8 graduate and teacher constituencies of the Legislative Council have been announced, under which voting will be held on all these seats on October 23. According to the information given by the Election Commission, the tenure of the currently elected members on all these eight seats is going to be completed on 16 November 2026, due to which these elections are being conducted. The major constituencies in which these elections are to be held include Patna Graduate, Darbhanga Graduate, Tirhut Graduate, Kosi Graduate, Patna Teacher, Darbhanga Teacher, Tirhut Teacher and Saran Teacher constituencies.

Under this election process, Neeraj Kumar from Patna graduate constituency, Sarvesh Kumar from Darbhanga graduate, Bansidhar Brajwasi from Tirhut graduate and N. from Kosi graduate. Of. Yadav's tenure is ending. On the other hand, in teacher constituencies, the tenure of Naval Kishore Yadav from Patna teacher, Madan Mohan Jha from Darbhanga teacher, Sanjay Kumar Singh from Tirhut teacher and Afaq Ahmed from Saran teacher constituency will complete on November 16.
Voting will be held on October 23
The Election Commission has also released the detailed schedule of this entire election process, according to which the official notification of the election will be issued on 29th September. Under this election programme, the last date for filing nomination papers by the candidates has been fixed as 6th October, while scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on the next day i.e. 7th October. After this, the candidates who wish to withdraw their names will be able to withdraw their names till October 9. After all the formalities are completed, voting will be conducted peacefully on the scheduled date i.e. 23rd October from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Just a few days after this, the counting of votes will take place on October 27 and finally by October 31, all the other election related processes will be completed.
