Patna. Bihar government has made a big announcement. On the occasion of Independence Day, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that from Rakshabandhan, 5 thousand women policemen will be deployed with scooties across the state. These women policemen will patrol around schools and colleges and keep an eye on the safety of girl students.

Security will increase around schools and colleges

The aim of this initiative of the government is to provide a safe environment to girl students. Increasing presence of women police personnel around educational institutions is expected to help in curbing eve-teasing and miscreant activities. This arrangement is being made keeping in mind that girl students can go to school and college without fear.

Investment target of Rs 5 lakh crore

During the Independence Day celebrations, the government also revealed the roadmap to promote economic activities in the state. The government aims to bring investment of Rs 5 lakh crore in Bihar by November. Industrialists from Bihar who are doing business outside have also been appealed to return to the state and invest.

Preparation to start 5 new sugar mills

Another big announcement related to farmers and employment was made. At present 10 sugar mills are said to be operating in the state. There are preparations to start 5 more sugar mills in the next six months. This is expected to increase employment opportunities at the local level with sugarcane farmers.
