Patna. On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has made a big announcement for the livelihood didis of Bihar. A plan has been made to connect the houses of about 10 lakh Jeevika Didis of the state with solar energy. Under this, rooftop solar panels will be installed on the roofs of eligible families. The Chief Minister has described this initiative as a special gift of Rakshabandhan for the women of the state.
Target to be completed by 31st March
The government has set a target to complete the work of installing rooftop solar on about 10 lakh houses by March 31. This scheme will be taken forward under PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
According to the Chief Minister, after installation of solar panels, it will help families to save on electricity expenses. This can reduce the burden of electricity bills every month and the remaining amount can be spent on other needs of the family.
Will help in strengthening the economic situation
The government believes that along with promoting solar energy, this initiative can also prove helpful in improving the economic condition of Jeevika Didis and their families. Reduction in electricity expenditure will reduce the pressure on the household budget.
The plan to connect 10 lakh houses with rooftop solar is expected to boost clean energy in Bihar and a large number of rural families will also benefit from it.
