Under the Prime Minister e-bus service, 10 pink e-buses will be dedicated to women in Dehradun, the facility will be provided in the entire state in a phased manner. The Chief Minister announced to increase the limit of concessional bank loan under Mahila Self-Employment Scheme from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.50 lakh.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced to develop hi-tech toilets with modern facilities keeping in mind the convenience, safety and dignity of women in the state. Along with cleanliness, special care will be taken of women's privacy, safety and necessary facilities in these toilets. The Chief Minister said that the dignity and respect of mother power is among the top priorities of the government. A more convenient and respectable environment for women will be ensured by providing modern and safe facilities at major public places, markets, tourist places and other important places of the state.
Announcement of free travel in roadways buses for women
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while giving a big gift to women on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, announced that the facility of free travel in roadways buses currently available to senior citizens above 65 years of age in the state, will be implemented for women from the age of 60 years. With this, more and more elderly women of the state will get the facility of safe and easy transportation.
10 pink e-buses dedicated to women
The Chief Minister announced to dedicate 10 buses out of 100 buses operating in Dehradun as pink e-buses for women out of 137 electric buses to be provided to Uttarakhand under the Prime Minister e-Bus Service. He said that this facility will be extended to other areas of the state in a phased manner, so that more and more women can get the facility of safe and convenient public transport.
Loan limit will be increased to Rs 2.5 lakh
In order to make women financially empowered and self-reliant, the Chief Minister announced to increase the limit of concessional bank loan under Mahila Self-Employment Scheme from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.50 lakh. He said that the government is making continuous efforts to make women employment providers and not employment seekers by providing them the necessary capital for self-employment.
Chief Minister tied Rakhi to sisters in Chakarpur
On the occasion of Rakshabandhan festival, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Rakshabandhan ceremony organized at Chakarpur Stadium and inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. The sisters present in the program tied Raksha Sutra to the Chief Minister, a symbol of unwavering love, affection and trust between brother and sister. The Chief Minister greeted all the sisters and gave them hearty wishes for Rakshabandhan.
Addressing the sisters, the Chief Minister said that today is a very auspicious and emotional day for them. He said that the love and affection of his sisters inspires him to continuously serve the public. This love gives them the strength to serve the people of the state with more hard work and energy.

The Chief Minister said that the festival of Rakshabandhan also makes us aware of our duties and responsibilities towards the society and gives the message of respect for mother power. It is also said in our scriptures that where women are respected, the gods reside there. A brother considers his sister's respect, safety and well-being as his religion. With this spirit, the state government is running many public welfare schemes for the respect, empowerment and self-reliance of women.
Capital available for self employment
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given top priority to mother power in his policies and schemes since 2014. He did not limit women empowerment to mere slogans, but provided opportunities to women to move forward by effectively implementing schemes on the ground. Women were connected to the banking system through the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana, and through the Mudra Yojana they were given the opportunity to provide capital for self-employment.
Political participation also strengthened
The Chief Minister said that through the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, work has been done to make their kitchens smoke free by providing gas connections to crores of women. Through the Swachh Bharat Mission, the honor and dignity of women has been ensured by constructing toilets in every home. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also strengthened the political participation of women. An important decision has been taken towards ensuring 33 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and Assembly.

Worked continuously to become self-reliant
The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, continuous work is being done in Uttarakhand to make the mother power strong and self-reliant. Through Nanda Gaura Yojana, the government is supporting the daughters from their birth till their education. Under the scheme, financial assistance of ₹ 11 thousand is provided on the birth of a girl child and ₹ 51 thousand on passing class 12th.
He said that through the Chief Minister Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme, a kit containing useful materials is being made available keeping in mind the needs of the mother and child after the birth of the child. Women are being assured of safety and assistance through 181 women's helpline and one stop centre. The state government has ensured 30 percent horizontal reservation for women in government services. He said that Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to implement Uniform Civil Code.

The Chief Minister said that the aim of the government is that the women of the state should not only become beneficiaries of government schemes, but should also lead in every field and become employment providers. With this in mind, a provision has been made to provide interest-free loans up to ₹ 5 lakh to self-help groups in the state, so that women can become financially strong by starting their own business.
