Big announcement from the Center for farmers! This decision will provide financial relief

New Delhi. The Central Government has taken a big step for the farmers of the country. To provide relief to farmers cultivating pulses and oilseeds, the government has approved procurement in many states under the Price Support Scheme (PSS). With this decision, farmers will get an opportunity to sell their crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Farmers of four states will get benefits

Farmers of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Haryana will benefit from this decision of the Central Government. Government procurement of crops like moong, urad and groundnut will be done in these states. The government believes that by purchasing at MSP, farmers will get a fair price for their produce and they will be able to avoid being forced to sell their crops at a lower price.

Biggest relief for farmers of Uttar Pradesh

Farmers cultivating pulses and oilseeds in Uttar Pradesh are expected to get huge benefits from this decision. Procurement of 48,298 MT Moong, 97,970 MT Urad, 41,718 MT Groundnut has been approved for the summer season 2026 in the state. On the basis of MSP, the total price of these crops is said to be more than Rs 1,490 crore. A large number of farmers can get direct economic benefits from this.

Farmers of Gujarat will also get benefit

There is news of relief for moong producing farmers in Gujarat also. Here, approval has been given to purchase 18,250 metric tons of moong for the summer season. According to MSP, the value of this purchase is estimated to be more than Rs 160 crore. This will help farmers to get better market prices.

Purchase limit increased in Tamil Nadu

Farmers of Tamil Nadu will also benefit from this decision of the government. A decision has been taken to increase the purchase limit of moong in the state. An attempt has been made to connect more farmers to the MSP system by increasing the earlier fixed limit. This will increase the chances of farmers getting the right price for their crops.

Relief to farmers of Haryana also

Government purchase of moong has also been approved in Haryana. It has been decided to purchase 2,115 metric tonnes of moong for the summer season 2026 in the state. The MSP value of this purchase is estimated to be more than Rs 18 crore. Farmers producing pulses can benefit from this.

Steps towards increasing the income of farmers

According to agricultural experts, government procurement at MSP protects farmers from market fluctuations. With this, farmers can be more encouraged to cultivate crops like pulses and oilseeds. The objective of the government is to promote pulses and oilseeds production in the country, strengthen the income of farmers and make the agriculture sector self-reliant.
