Big blow to CM Vijay from Supreme Court, will Tamil Nadu government fall?
The troubles of the newly elected Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay (Thalapathy Vijay) are not showing any signs of ending. With the formation of his new government in the state, clouds of crisis have started looming over him. The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a very serious petition in the ‘Karur stampede’ case, which has increased the troubles of CM Vijay and his cabinet.
Ministers accused of threatening witnesses
Very sensational allegations have been made in the petition filed in the Supreme Court. It said that those who were accused in the Karur stampede case and have now become ministers in the new government of Tamil Nadu, are continuously trying to influence and intimidate the witnesses in the case. The bench of Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah and Justice Sheel Nagu has agreed to hear this entire matter, which is being considered as a big blow for CM Vijay.
What was the Karur stampede case?
This tragic accident happened on 27 September 2025 in Karur, Tamil Nadu. At that time a public meeting of Thalapathy Vijay’s party ‘Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam’ (TVK) was organized. The crowd at this event was much larger than expected. According to official figures, 41 people were killed in the stampede, while more than 140 people were seriously injured.
How did such a big mistake happen?
According to investigation and initial reports, the organizers had not anticipated the arrival of more than 25 thousand people, due to which there were no adequate arrangements to control the crowd on the narrow roads. The trouble increased further when Vijay reached the rally venue much late than the scheduled time. The already troubled crowd had become restless due to the scorching heat. Meanwhile, due to generator failure near the stage, electricity was cut and the mics were switched off. After this, there was chaos and people started running towards the stage, due to which a horrifying scene of stampede was created. Now, it will be very interesting to see what turn the Supreme Court takes in this matter.
