Big decisions of Bengal Cabinet: ₹ 3000 to women every month, free bus travel and approval of Seventh Pay Commission
Kolkata. Subhendu government of West Bengal approved many big and important decisions in the cabinet meeting held on Monday. Giving information about the decisions after the meeting, Government Minister Agnimitra Paul said that ‘Annapurna Yojana’ for women and the formation of Seventh Pay Commission for state employees have been approved.
Assistance of ₹ 3000 every month to women-
The government, while approving ‘Annapurna Yojana’, announced that from June 1, financial assistance of Rs 3,000 will be given every month to the women of the state. Along with this, the facility of free travel in government buses will also be implemented for women.
Green signal to Seventh Pay Commission-
The constitution of the Seventh Pay Commission for state employees, affiliated statutory bodies and employees of educational institutions has also been approved. Lakhs of employees are expected to benefit from this.
Government assistance stopped on religious grounds-
The Cabinet has also decided to stop government assistance given to various groups on religious grounds from the month of June.
CAA applicants will also get benefits-
The government has decided that those who have applied under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and those who have applied to the tribunal to get their names added to the voter list, will also get the benefit of Annapurna Yojana.
Important decisions were also taken in the first cabinet meeting-
Earlier, in its first cabinet meeting, the Shubhendu government had approved increasing the age limit of candidates applying for jobs in schools by five years.
Apart from this, important decisions like implementation of Ayushman Bharat scheme in the state, implementation of Indian Judicial Code (BNS) and giving land to BSF for fencing the Bangladesh border were also taken.
The government has also ordered to implement the instructions of the Home Ministry related to the census with immediate effect.
