Big instruction from Supreme Court on Bhojshala controversy! Muslim side allowed Friday prayers, important orders given to Madhya Pradesh government

Bhopal: The Supreme Court has issued important interim instructions regarding the Bhojshala complex located in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. A bench headed by Chief Justice (CJI) Surya Kant has asked the state government to make such arrangements so that the Muslim community can offer Friday prayers. The court clarified that this is only an interim arrangement and it will not be considered as a final decision on the rights or claims of any party.

What did the Supreme Court say?

During the hearing, the Supreme Court said that the Muslim community should be provided the facility to offer Friday prayers in the open space adjacent to the Bhojshala premises. The court said that the purpose of this arrangement is to maintain peace and social harmony till the final decision is taken. At the same time, it should also be ensured that no party is caused unnecessary inconvenience.

High Court order challenged

This matter is related to the order of Madhya Pradesh High Court, in which petitions are being heard questioning the findings regarding considering Bhojshala as a temple related to Goddess Saraswati. The Hindu side claims that Bhojshala is an ancient Saraswati temple, while the Muslim side calls it the Kamal Maula Mosque.

Muslim side presented its argument

Senior advocates from the Muslim side said in the court that after the order of the High Court, the status quo that has been going on for years has been affected. His argument was that this has affected the religious rights of the Muslim community. He also said that it is necessary to adopt a balanced approach while making changes in the current system based on historical events.

The court advised to exercise restraint

During the hearing, CJI Surya Kant told the lawyers of both the parties that this is a very sensitive matter, hence the words should be chosen carefully while presenting the arguments in the court. The court indicated that the final hearing of the case would be held on a day when senior lawyers from both sides could get adequate time.

final decision still pending

At present, the Supreme Court has given instructions to implement only interim arrangements. The court made it clear that this order should not be considered as the final decision. The final decision on the Bhojshala dispute will be given only after detailed hearing and hearing the arguments of both the parties. Till then the state government has been asked to maintain such arrangements so that law and order and religious harmony is maintained.
