Huge plume of ‘white clouds’ rising from the sea, IMD warns of heavy rain in many states

New Delhi: Monsoon is going to become active once again in many parts of the country. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said in its latest forecast that a large system of moisture-laden clouds is moving rapidly from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of heavy rain in many states of Eastern, Central and North India for the next few days.

Weather will change in next 24 hours

According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area is likely to form near North Bay of Bengal and West Bengal-Bangladesh coast in the next 24 hours. Due to its effect, rain activities may remain intense in Eastern and North-Eastern India, Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Western Himalayan regions for the next one week.

Odisha’s warning issued

In view of the changing weather, IMD has issued a special warning for Odisha, saying that on July 14 and 15, some areas of the state may receive more than 204 mm of rainfall. At the same time, due to heavy rains, there is a danger of waterlogging, flood like situation and landslides. In the last 24 hours, good rainfall has also been recorded in Kendrapara of Odisha and West Champaran of Bihar.

How will be the weather of North India?

At the same time, people of Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Punjab and Western Uttar Pradesh have little hope of getting relief from humidity and heat. The Meteorological Department says that rain activities will remain limited in these areas for the next few days. However, intermittent light rain, strong winds and thunder may be seen. The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be between 37 to 39 degrees Celsius.

Fishermen were advised to stay away from the sea

Talking about hilly states, rainy season may continue in many parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir between July 14 and 19. There is also a possibility of heavy rain at some places, which may increase the risk of landslides and road blockage. On the other hand, despite the monsoon, the effect of heat continues in some parts of South India. IMD has warned of heat wave in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema. Also, in view of the strong winds and bad weather in the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea, fishermen have been advised not to go into the sea.
