Big meeting of US and Iran in Switzerland, decision will be taken on Israel-Hezbollah war and Hormuz sea route

A big meeting is going to be held in Switzerland to reduce tension between America and Iran. The main issue of this conversation is to stop the ongoing war between Israel and Hezbollah. Big leaders of both the countries will sit at one table on Sunday, June 21, 2026 so that peace can be brought to the region.

The meeting was originally scheduled to take place on Friday, June 19, but was postponed due to the intensification of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. Now this discussion will take place at Bürgenstock Resort in Switzerland. In this meeting, Vice President JD Vance will lead the team from the US side, while Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf will be present from the Iranian side.

At the beginning of the week, both the countries had signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding). It was decided that the war would be stopped, the sea route to the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened and talks would continue for the next 60 days. US President Donald Trump said that those passing through this route will not have to pay any toll tax for 60 days, but if the final agreement is not reached then America can impose tax.

On the other hand, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said that the final deal will be reached only when all the promises are fulfilled, otherwise the agreement may be in danger. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took a tough stance, saying that he would not tolerate the attacks and that Hezbollah would have to pay a heavy price. He also said that his troops would remain in the security zone in southern Lebanon as long as necessary. Whereas Hezbollah said that they will continue to protect Lebanon until Israel completely withdraws from there.

Pakistan, Qatar and Switzerland are mediating this entire process. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has confirmed that technical level talks will take place on June 21. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi may also attend this meeting because America wants Iran’s nuclear sites to be investigated.

According to the latest information, there was a fierce battle between Israel and Hezbollah on Saturday, in which 16 people died in Lebanon and Hezbollah fired more than 50 projectiles. Meanwhile, Iran claimed that it has closed the Strait of Hormuz again, but America has denied this. The US Command (CENTCOM) says that the movement of ships is normal and their forces are monitoring the situation.
