Big news for small businessmen, central government announced a fund of Rs 10,000 crore

New Delhi. The Central Government has taken a big step for the small and medium businessmen of the country. The Union Cabinet has approved government investment of Rs 10,000 crore under the SME Growth Fund (SGF). The objective of this initiative is to provide capital to small and medium enterprises which have the potential to scale up their business.

The government believes that this fund will not only provide capital to the companies, but will also help in increasing production, adopting new technology and creating employment opportunities. There is a plan to spend a large part of the fund especially on small and medium enterprises related to manufacturing.

Support for companies that have the potential to grow

There are many businesses in the SME sector that have the potential to expand, but raising the necessary equity capital for the long term remains a challenge for them. The new fund will try to overcome this shortcoming. Through this, eligible enterprises are expected to get capital assistance at different stages of development.

Keep an eye on small town industries also

Instead of limiting the benefits of this scheme only to big business centres, there will be an emphasis on extending it to the SMEs present in the industrial clusters of Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. This can help in the expansion of industries in small towns and strengthen the local supply chain. The government hopes that increased investment will create new jobs and accelerate industrial activities in different sectors.

Decision linked to Developed India 2047

According to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, this initiative is part of a broader strategy to provide equity, capital and better growth opportunities to the SME sector. The aim of the government is to create such Indian enterprises which can later become large and competitive industries in their respective fields.

This fund of Rs 10,000 crore is also linked to the government's goal of Developed India@2047. Through this, efforts will be made to promote innovation, production, investment and employment, so that the country's small and medium industries can get new growth momentum.
