Patna:A very relieving news has emerged for lakhs of youth preparing for government jobs in Bihar. With the aim of further strengthening the state police department, the process of recruitment on more than 26 thousand new posts will be completed within the next two to two and a half months. Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar made this important announcement during a press conference held in the dialogue room of the Information and Public Relations Department. He said that the recruitment process is being carried forward rapidly in a transparent manner through various selection commissions, so that the newly appointed policemen can be trained as soon as possible and deployed in the security system of the state.
26 thousand posts in Bihar Police will be reinstated soon
DGP said that the process of appointment to a total of 26,574 posts is in the final stage. In this, recruitment is being done on 1,799 posts of Inspector through Bihar Police Under Service Commission, the main examination of which has been completed on 27 May 2026.
Motor Vehicle Driver Efficiency Test for 4,361 posts of Driver Constable is going to be conducted from 22nd. He assured that the process will be completed by declaring the results of all these posts within the next two to two and a half months.
Police numbers will increase
The strength of the police force is being continuously increased to maintain law and order in the state and to speed up the investigation of criminal cases. According to DGP Vinay Kumar, recently more than 22 thousand constables have been appointed and deployed in various districts, due to which the total capacity of Bihar Police has increased to 1.21 lakh. In the last one and a half years alone, more than 50 thousand new constables have been recruited, which is about 40 percent of the current police force. Apart from this, the promotion process is also going on at a fast pace in the department, under which many inspectors have been promoted to the post of DSP.
1,500 scooties will be purchased for 'Police Didi' system
Giving priority to women's safety, Bihar Police has started a new system of 'Police Didi' around schools and colleges. To make the movement of this special team easier, an order has been placed on Friday to purchase 1,500 scooters, which will be supplied in the next 15 days. At the same time, 3,100 new bikes will also be provided to policemen within the next one month. The participation of women in the police force in Bihar is the highest in the entire country, which is not only creating an environment of security in the society but is also creating social prestige and new employment opportunities for the youth who have been preparing for years.
